Monstera is such a tropical leaf! We’ve woven it into a trinket basket by dyeing dried Sikki grass to a mellow variegated green.

Sikki grass grows wild around the river Kosi, also known as the sorrow of Bihar. Each year the river overflows it’s banks, leaving behind tall, beautiful Sikki grass. Products made from this grass are washable at home, and have to be dried completely, mostly in the sun.
Rihaa works with 200 women in Bihar who are weavers of the grass. They make everything from baskets to fans in a happy, healthy environment.
